God of War is Sony Santa Monica's 2018 reboot of the series, released for PlayStation 4 on 20 April 2018. Kratos and his son Atreus travel through Norse mythology, and the game is a single-player action-adventure.
What is the story?
Kratos lives in the Norse realms with Atreus after the events of the earlier games. The journey focuses on their relationship as they travel, hunt and fight gods and monsters.
How does combat work?
Kratos uses the Leviathan Axe and the Blades of Chaos, with an over-the-shoulder camera and close, physical combat. Runic attacks, upgrades and Atreus's abilities add options during fights.
